Research and development

Intermac invests a large proportion of its turnover in research. The Research and Development department, in fact, has always dedicated itself and its resources to the creating of new products and the perfecting of the existing. The final aim being that of providing updated solutions in line with the needs of the market.
The quality of Intermac products starts as early as the design phase, in which highly specialised and constantly updated personnel make use of the latest generation software for solid modelling, capable of simulating the dynamic stresses generated during machining and highlighting any zones requiring stiffening.
The same can be said for the software used to control the machines. The software is, in fact, developed in-house by a team of specialists possessing extensive knowledge of the sector.

Research is considered as being a strategic element and one of maximum importance, to the extent that a new ad-hoc department, INNOVA, has been set up. The new department is responsible for design interaction with the product offices and the prototype departments of all the individual Intermac Glass & Stone Division brand names as well as those of the entire Biesse Group. In addition, INNOVA also looks after the experimentation, design and realisation of new components and the design of new machines.

INNOVA is responsible for:
- designing technologically advanced components with high added value.
- supporting the individual production units in the design of special products.
- looking after the “design” of the group, in order to guarantee coherence in image and structure of the products of the various divisions.
- designing particularly innovative machines and overseeing the entire realisation process, above all through the analysis of production methods, paying particular attention to characteristics such as flexibility, automation, safety and ecology of the production process.

Today, Intermac has improved its capacity to respond to the needs of its clientele with an ability to foresee future requirements and come up with new solutions. Continuing research into standardisation has enabled the latest technologies to be applied to all products, guaranteeing quality, productivity and simplicity of use.
